Charlotte, otherwise known as @skinbylottie is a student and skincare blogger. Despite only starting her Instagram page fairly recently, she has accumulated over ten thousand followers and has collaborated with some amazing beauty brands.
What was it that initially inspired you to start your page?
I started my page just before lockdown in the U.K. happened. For years I’ve always wanted to start a blog dedicated to my passion for skincare and I finally took the plunge after some help from my boyfriend and created my Instagram.
Do you hope to make Instagram your full-time job, or do you have other career aspirations as well and if so, what are they?
As of now, no. Creating content is only a passion. But who knows in the future what might come from it! I’m currently in my last year of university studying Journalism and I hope to go into PR when I graduate, my Instagram has allowed me to make so many connections in this field and it’ll definitely come in handy when the time comes!
How do you stay motivated to create new content?
At time’s it’s hard to be inspired all the time and find the motivation, there are days/weeks where I feel like giving up on creating content, but I always remind myself why I started. Seeing all my friends posts on the platform really gives me inspiration in times where I have none also!
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in this business?
To stick with it! Even if you feel like you’re growing slowly, or your peers are growing at a larger pace and you’re not. Don’t give up. You’re unique and just remember why you started because it’s all so worth it!
If you could only use one skin care product for the rest of your life what would it be?
Hard question but most definitely the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask. Anyone who knows me, knows that I can’t live without it!!
Lastly, what was your dream job when you were a little girl?
I wanted to be an author when I was younger! I used to love writing children’s stories!!
